UK university esports body NSE has renewed its partnership Chinese game developer HoYoverse for a third consecutive year.

The partnership between the two companies will continue to focus on running Genshin Impact events and activations on student campuses in the UK.

As part of the deal, NSE plans to run challenges, activities and events throughout the 2024/25 academic year. The company will also give university student-led societies the ability to run Genshin Impact events supported by NSE and HoYoverse.

Last academic year, due to this partnership, there were 20 on-campus Genshin Impact events hosted by students of various natures. These included cosplay competitions, Genshin Impact quizzes and boss battle speedruns.

This is the third consecutive year that the two companies have collaborated. Previously, NSE ran the popular ‘Marketplace Magic: Genshin Campus Celebration’, an event held in London for the Genshin Impact student community. Fans enjoyed activations done by NSE and HoYoverse and had the opportunity to participate in meet-ups with influencers who were present.

According to the release, the renewed partnership aims to bring even more in-person and online events across the UK to support the growth of the Genshin Impact community.

Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG developed by HoYoverse. The Chinese company has developed an array of games, including Honkai: Star Rail, Honkai Impact 3rd and Tears of Themis.

Founded in 2018 in partnership with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS), NSE is a supporting body of university esports in the UK with a large grassroots base. NSE is no stranger to partnerships in esports to grow its positions, working with large companies in and out of esports such as SteelSteries, Monster Energy and Pringles.

HoYoverse is not the only major publisher that NSE has a relationship with, with the university body working with Nintendo, Riot Games and Ubisoft. As winter approaches these partnerships will come to fruition as NSE is gearing up for its winter tournaments which allow players to compete across a variety of titles including VALORANT, TFT, Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege and CS2.

Alex Coulson, Managing Director at NSE spoke on the renewal: “We are excited to continue our partnership with HoYoverse for another consecutive year. We always work towards further elevating the university experience for UK students and another year of partnership will continue helping us work towards our goal.

“We can’t wait to see more of the student’s passion and creativity for their on-campus events this academic year.”
