Space Marine 2 Xbox performance specs and cross-play details revealed

We’ve not got long to wait until we can begin collecting the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 achievements, with many players able to jump in early next week ahead of the game’s full launch on September 9. Earlier this week, Saber Interactive uncovered the game’s Roadmap, and now the developer has revealed the Space Marine 2 performance targets, as well as how cross-play will work.Space Marine 2 performance modes and cross-play revealedAs revealed on the game’s Steam page, Space Marine 2 will launch with Quality and Performance Modes on Xbox Series X. Quality Mode will target 4K/30fps and Performance Mode will offer up to 1080p/60fps. Xbox Series S will only have a Quality Mode available, which will allow for 1440p/30fps.The developer also reveals that cross-play in the Eternal War (PvP) will only be available between Xbox Series X|S and PS5, as well as between Steam and the Epic Games Store on PC to keep things fair. Saber confirms that we’ll still be able to play through the co-op campaign and Operations with players on all platforms. Of course, if you’d prefer to only play with players on Xbox, you can turn cross-play off.Speaking of multiplayer, the page also confirms that there isn’t any friendly fire in Space Marine 2, but there will be class restrictions. The three-player co-op Operations mode only allows players to use one of each class, so you’ll not be able to double up. As for Eternal War, each team will have a limit of two players per class.
