Dauntless, the free-to-play action-RPG is getting an Xbox Series X|S upgrade on December 2nd that adds improved visuals, faster load times, and 36 new achievements to unlock. With the new, enhanced version of Dauntless, developer Phoenix Labs says you will see a “significant upgrade that features stunning, high-resolution visuals and faster load times,” including new lighting, improved view distances, volumetric fog, reworked textures, and more. On Xbox Series X, the game will run at a dynamic 4K resolution, targeting 60fps, while on Xbox Series S, you can expect a 1440p resolution targeting 60fps. Load times are said to be 90% faster than on previous-gen consoles. In addition to all the lovely visual and performance improvements, Phoenix Labs has added 36 new achievements to the game, which covers “all of the great content we’ve added to the game since our initial console launch.” Unfortunately, the developer hasn’t revealed what these new achievements are exactly or if they’ll be unlocked retroactively. The developer also notes that if you’re already playing Dauntless on a console or PC, all of your progress will carry over, thanks to cross-progression, and you’ll still be able to play with your pals as the game supports full cross-play. Those playing on Xbox Series X|S will receive the enhanced version of the game automatically via Smart Delivery. Dauntless comes to Xbox Series X|S consoles on December 2nd.
