Esports organisation G2 Esports has announced an extension of its merchandise collaboration with Warner Bros., the licence holders for the Batman franchise.

The partnership will see a merchandise collection launched by the two brands, featuring a hoodie, a fleece, a windbreaker and a jacket.

The collection is the latest in a series of merchandise drops by Warner Bros. and G2 Esports, first kicked off by the launch of Superman and Joker-themed jerseys, which G2 says are “one of the organisation’s most popular collections to date.” Building on the theme, the new collection will include everyday items, not just player jerseys.

The collection will focus on Batman, another one of DC Comics’ iconic characters, and will be available during the LEC Finals in Munich on August 31st. Not a lot was shared in terms of design, apart from a teaser image with mostly black clothing items pictured.

According to the two brands, the merchandise will be available for a limited time, will consist of four items, and will be “a stylish mixture of esports and streetwear.” Details on pricing were not disclosed, but G2 said that the collection will also be available through the brand’s internet shop for a short time after September 2nd, 2024.

Sabrina Ratih, COO of G2 Esports said: “G2 fans and our teams already had the pleasure of wearing iconic jerseys based on DC’s Superman and The Joker in 2023, and now our new G2 x Batman Capsule Collection has emerged from the shadows, offering casual and stylish options with subtle designs that emulate the Dark Knight himself.

“This is a dream partnership for G2, and we’re honoured to be a part of the 85th-anniversary celebrations for such a legendary character. This is an incredible opportunity to continue bringing together the worlds of esports, comics and entertainment with a collection our fans will feel proud to wear.”

G2 has made headlines in 2023 by partnering with renowned fashion brand Ralph Lauren for another merchandise collaboration that also proved to be a big success.
