Clover Retribution Mastery

In short, mastery is just that. It’s mastering, or rather honing your skill, just like how it works in real life. In regards to game logic though, how often you use a spell in battle determines your mastery level – the same goes for weapons too.

All spells stack up to 3 Clovers, which you get by unleashing the spell plenty of times. The Clovers determine the current level of mastery, and once a spell gets 3, that means it’s at the maximum level. The mastery of a spell changes how it performs in battle. This can come in many forms, but two main buffs are a decreased time for cooldowns and a damage boost.

The benefits are worth it, but as with all things in video games, it takes a while. There’s nothing you can do to speed the mastery progression up, apart from utilising your spells as much as possible in combat. Although, there is a certain mini-game you can play to obtain a little extra.

Spell Mastery Minigame

To find this minigame, you must visit the mastery NPC in the castle’s library. While you can reset your class for free here, your main focus is to train your mastery. When talking with the NPC, select the “I’d like to research (Clover Training)” option.

It costs 1K Gold to start the minigame, and you must choose which spell you want to train before taking part. The minigame itself is easy, with Clovers of various colours appearing on the screen, which you need to click as quickly as possible. The colours represent different amounts of points per one that you click.

If you miss Clovers, points are removed from your total score. As for the score, the numerical amount is the EXP that is added to your mastery!
