Clover Retribution Status Effects

Status effects can be good and bad. It’s an umbrella term for buffs and debuffs, which are both applicable to NPCs and players.

Debuffs

Debuffs can be given to both you and your enemies.

Burn

Afflicting an enemy with the Burn debuff results in them taking damage per second, also referred to as damage over time, or DOT in some cases. As for the amount of damage that Burn deals, it’s random at best, but at least you know you’re passively whittling down the HP bar of your opponent!

Shocked

Getting zapped by lightning creates the Shocked debuff. The damage dealt is again random, but it takes a number between 1 and 8 and multiplies it with the number of lightning stacks. These stacks max out at 5.

Poisoned

Those inflicted with the Poison debuff can give it to someone else who is nearby. This goes for enemies and allies alike. Constitution plays a big part in this, as the lower your CON level, the more damage you end up taking from the poison.

Fear

While it’s called Fear, it’s just another form of a stun effect. Those who have the Fear debuff cannot move for the full duration, allowing enemies to attack them with no way to defend themselves.

Weakened

The Weakened effect stacks up to a total of 6, with every stack representing a 3% reduction in damage. At level 6, the damage dealt by the inflicted is now 18% weaker.

Frostbite

If you are part of the Lynthari race, you don’t have to worry about this debuff. Those who explore Tundra gain the Frostbite debuff, which deals damage over time due to the harsh chill of the environment.

Chilled

Defense against attacks reduces up to a total of 10 stacks. Each stack is 5%, which makes the afflicted 50% more susceptible to damage.

Rooted

Another stun debuff! A vine attaches to the enemy and prevents them from moving. They are essentially locked in place, and if multiple enemies are connected, that’s a grand time to start attacking!

Petrified

A simple stun status effect.

Buffs

The status effects that benefit you directly!

Melodized

Players who have Melodized have a shield that reduces damage by 12% for any type of attack. Plus, you get a 12% damage boost for your own abilities!

Gloom

The Gloom effect stacks to a total of 5. Once level 5 activates, a large explosion occurs beneath that deals AoE damage to all nearby opponents.

Enraged

This buff increases your DMG by 5%, your Dexterity and Strength by 15%, and your defense to all attack types by 5%.
