The email Brian Kelly sent to the Notre Dame roster on Monday confirming he is leaving for LSU has reportedly been leaked.

The bombshell report dropped on Monday evening by Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel revealed that Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly is expected to be hired by the LSU Tigers. The news came as a shock to many, including Kelly’s assistant coaches, who found out the news like everyone else. It appears that Kelly has confirmed the news to his roster.

Pete Sampson of The Athletic tweeted out the message that Kelly sent to Notre Dame’s roster on Team Works, confirming that he “will be leaving Notre Dame” and that he will meet with them on Tuesday morning.

With Kelly confirming the news to his players, that leaves the Fighting Irish without a head coach. What makes it even crazier is that it is entirely possible that Notre Dame could make it into the College Football Playoff! So, all eyes will be on what the program decides to do, whether that is name an interim head coach, or announce a hiring prior to the start of the bowl games.

Kelly joined Notre Dame back in 2010 and helped lead the program to the BCS Championship Game back in 2012. In his 12 years, Kelly picked up 113 wins, making him the winningest coach in Notre Dame history.

Now, Kelly is moving on to LSU to lead the Tigers back to the National Championship. What a past couple of days for the college football world, and we still have the latest Playoff rankings and Conference Championship Games looming this week.
