The Clover Retribution 4-Leaf Clover Grimoire

Grimoires can either be part of the 3-Leaf Clover category, the 4-Leaf Clover category, and lastly, the 5-Leaf Clover category. In this guide, I take a closer look at the 4-Leaf Clover variants!

When rolling for a new grimoire, you have a 1% chance of said grimoire being a 4-Leaf Clover variant. If you use Epic Spins, this drop rate chance increases to 2%! The main appeal of 4-Leaf Clover grimoires is because of the additional skills that come with them. That and the scaling improvements, such as the range and damage of your abilities.

Abilities Exclusive to 4-Leaf Clover Grimoires

The 4-Leaf Clover grimoires unlock the following magic abilities:

Healing

Unlocks the Death Ward ability for your character, which requires 45 Mastery and costs 500 Mana. When you and your allies reach 0 HP, Death Ward regenerates your health up to 25%. The higher your Mastery level, the larger the range of this ability. The colour of your aura also determines the length of the Death Ward ability!

Flame

A 4-Leaf Clover grimoire grants access to the Vermilion Blaze Mane ability, with a Mastery level requirement of 75 and a max cost of 200 Mana. You create a firey lion’s head behind your avatar, which unleashes a long breath of flames to attack enemies.

Lightning

You get the Thunder God’s Attire move, which covers your avatar’s body in electricity. Costing 20 mana per second, this move requires a Mastery level of 75. Your movement stat increases while this is active, and your M1 hits scale with your Intelligence stat for a while.

Void

With the 4-Leaf Clover grimoire equipped, you can now use the Black Hole ability! It summons a sphere of void energy, which drags enemies into the middle and deals damage before and prior to exploding. You must have 100 Mana spare for this ability and a Mastery level of 65.

Blood

You now have access to the Crimson Hydra move! Once you reach Mastery level 80, you can spend 150 Mana to unleash a Hydra that attacks enemies alongside you. The larger the Hydra is, the more range it has.

World Tree

At Mastery level 75, you can use the Great Tree Mistilteinn ability. It costs a maximum of 250 Mana and requires a Mastery level of 75. In combat, you create a miniature variant of the World Tree, which adds a shield to you and your allies, as well as activating HP and Mana regen.

The World Tree passive has a cooldown of 40 seconds if you have a 4-Leaf Clover grimoire, compared to the usual 70-second cooldown.

Water

The 4-Leaf Clover grimoire allows the Maelstrom Surge ability to scale, which is boosted depending on your Mastery level. This move works with any grimoire type, but it is significantly better with a 4-Leaf Clover.

Sand

The 4-Leaf Clover grimoire grants you the Iron Sand passive ability. This passive turns your spells black and every attack now has a chance to inflict enemies with the Poison debuff with every hit.
