Showdown 1896 to launch with a new-but-familiar Xbox achievement list

While we were unsure if the Hunt: Showdown achievements would be discontinued with the launch of the free Xbox Series X|S upgrade on August 15, it now seems like this will be the case. We’ve just scanned in the Hunt: Showdown 1896 Xbox achievements, which are nigh identical to the original list, suggesting that the upgrade is a separate game instead of a standard upgrade.Hunt: Showdown 1896 builds on its predecessor with performance enhancements optimized for current-gen consoles, such as native 4K/60fps on Xbox Series X. The current maps will go on hiatus while Crytek works to remaster them, so we have a fresh map to explore in the meantime: Mammoth Gulch. The upgrade also launches alongside a new Scorched Earth event, so there will be plenty to do when exploring Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately, Crytek has said that it will no longer be supporting Xbox One, but your progress will carry over if you pick up an Xbox Series X|S — if you currently own the game, you’ll be able to download Hunt: Showdown 1896 for free as well. We don’t yet know if your achievement progress will carry over into this version, so we’ll need to wait until it launches to find out.Speaking of achievements, the Hunt: Showdown 1896 achievements are pretty much the same as the original list. The only big change looks to affect the Monstrous Bibliophile and Weapons Bibliophile achievements related to the Book of Monsters, which appear to have been replaced with the new Weapons Expert achievement for unlocking 50 pieces of gear — obviously, the list now has 36 achievements instead of the original 37.
