The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) has announced a partnership with Shinhan University.
The deal will see Shinhan University compete in esports events organised by AESF. Meanwhile, students will have the opportunity to participate in voluntary work or placements to learn more about the esports industry.

To mark the partnership, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by AESF Executive Board Member Hicha Al Taher and Shinhan University’s Vice President of External Affairs Dr. Chung Jin-kyung.
As part of the collaboration, the two parties will collaborate to guide research ‘on contemporary issues’ impacting the industry. Moreover, Shinhan University has also introduced a major in esports management, focusing on practical training to prepare students for careers in the industry.
According to a release from the Asian Electronic Sports Federation, the partnership with Shinhan University is part of its ‘ongoing efforts’ to improve esports education across the continent. The Federation has already collaborated with the Guangzhou Sport University in China and Temple University in Japan.
The Asian Electronic Sports Federation has continued to expand its presence in 2024. In February, it renewed its partnership with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union to continue the development of broadcasting and esports initiatives. In 2023, the Federation joined forces with the China Sports Information Center with a focus on developing the Asian Games.
Al Taher spoke on the partnership between AESF and the University: “This MoU marks the beginning of a promising partnership between AESF and Shinhan University.
“This collaboration will benefit all relevant stakeholders, including students, educators, and key experts in the esports industry, strengthening the entire esports ecosystem.”
