Firesprite Studio’s last outing (and first under the PlayStation Studio’s umbrella) was Horizon: Call Of The Mountain, the PlayStation VR2 launch game that to this day still stands as one of the only times Sony has utilized a first-party IP for its second-generation VR platform.Since Call Of The Mountain’s release however, most of the news we’ve heard out of Firesprite hasn’t exactly been the best. First the news that Firesprite had been impacted by layoffs, which saw Call Of The Mountain’s director made redundant, and soon after those first layoff calls came a report which alleged that Firesprite operated with a very toxic workplace culture, which was already driving talent from the studio, layoffs or not.As far as what’s next from Firesprite though, as recently as last month we learned from a job listing that the studio is working on a “dark, story-driven narrative adventure.” Today, spotted by MP1st, it looks like an additional level to this dark, story-driven narrative adventure is that it’s based off an already established IP.It’s of course unclear what that IP is, but at least this narrows it down a bit as to which IP’s this could mean, especially if its something from Sony’s own library.Source – [MP1st]
