When developer Bugbear Entertainment released the original Wreckfest back in 2019, the game was praised for its fun and destructible gameplay that set a new bar for car and racing games that let you drive like a lunatic and smash cars together. Now in 2024 the studio is finally ready to reveal its next attempt to reset that bar even higher with Wreckfest 2. The sequel was revealed during THQ Nordic’s Showcase for this year, with a short trailer that’s entirely shot in-engine, but doesn’t exactly show gameplay.Well it does, but only from one specific driving angle, one that players would rarely use for more than a few seconds at a time. Which is to say that we don’t really get a full look at what the gameplay will look like and what upgrades are coming in this sequel. You can check out the reveal trailer for Wreckfest 2 for yourself, below. We also, unfortunately, don’t get a release date, or even a specific answer to which platforms it’ll be arriving on beyond the confirmation that it’ll be “consoles and PC.”Hopefully we’ll hear more about Wreckfest 2 soon, but for now fans can at least be satisfied in knowing that it is on the way.Source – [THQ Nordic Showcase]
