Void Fishing Rods Guide – Gamezebo

The key to improving your catches is upgrading your Void Fishing rods! You purchase new rods with your in-game currency, and then you upgrade them with even more dosh.

How many Void Fishing rods have you unlocked? Stuck at the Magnetic Rod? Have a nosey at our Void Fishing Troves guide and our Void Fishing Omnivorous Rod guide for a boost in cash, Luck, and Efficiency.

Void Fishing Rods

To get a new rod in Void Fishing, you need to save up your in-game cash. You earn this currency by fishing at any spot, making use of luck boosts, and auto-selling lower rarity items. Some high-rarity items are needed for other things, but they can also be sold for a big profit!  As well as the rods below, there’s also a Void Fishing Golden Rod that you can only get by collecting the required parts.

Early Rods

When you’re new to the game, these 3 rods are your initial tools.

Starter Rod

The rod that every player begins with! You don’t have to upgrade this one since you’ll be swapping it out, but if you want to speed up your income, go ahead. As you can imagine, the base Luck and Efficiency isn’t the best, but it’s suitable for when you’re getting used to how Void Fishing works. Just make sure you save up enough money to purchase the Toy Rod and some upgrades for it.

Toy Rod

The next step up from the Starter Rod! It’s not amazing, but it’s a lot better compared to the Starter Rod at least. For example, at a 70% Luck boost from upgrades, your Luck stat is at 3.40. The upgrades don’t add much to the Toy Rod, but it’s a good one to use while you save for the Magnetic Rod.

Magnetic Rod

This is the last rod in the ‘early’ section, as from here they get quite a bit more expensive. This rod costs 5K and each upgrade costs over 1K. You’ll be using this rod for a while as the Glass Rod costs a massive 45K. During this time, you should max out the Luck and Efficiency of the Magnetic Rod. It may seem counterproductive to do this, but it does help to get your income back up quickly!

Mid Game Rods

Once you’ve made it to the Glass Rod, it only gets more expensive and grindy from here!

Glass Rod

Be careful not to drop this one…

  • Costs 45K
  • Base Efficiency: 2.25
  • Base Luck: 2

Bamboo Rod

A rod made out of bamboo!

  • Costs 75K
  • Base Efficiency: 3.65
  • Base Luck: 2.5

Sponge Rod

Based on Spongebob Squarepants! And by ‘based on’, it has a brown handle like Spongebob’s pants, and the rod part is yellow… like Spongebob.

  • Costs 125K
  • Base Efficiency: 3.255
  • Base Luck: 3.25

Crystalline Rod

  • Costs 550K
  • Base Efficiency: 4
  • Base Luck: 4.5

Late Game Rods

These rods are super expensive and only obtainable once you’re into the latter part of the game. At this point, you should have all of the map areas unlocked.

Nebular Rod

A galaxy at your fingertips.

  • Costs 1.25 million
  • Base Efficiency: 7.5
  • Base Luck: 7.5

Divine Rod

Let’s hope this increases the quality of your catches!

Cursed Rod

Hence the cost!

My personal favourite design-wise!
