Canvas Run is all about building up a stream of colored balls and weaving them through a series of obstacles to try and get the highest score. It’s simple, it’s fun, and there are some layers you’re going to have to peel back if you want to get the most out of the experience.
And that’s exactly what this guide is for. We’ve played a decent chunk of Canvas Run and discovered all of the strategies you’re going to need to take your game to the next level. Follow these strategies and you’re going to be getting the highest scores most of the time.
Whether you’ve rolled some balls already or you’re just setting out to tackle the first level, you’re going to find something to help you out here. Here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Canvas Run.
Pick the biggest number
When you come to the gates, you should try and pick the one that’s going to give you the most balls. However, there’s a proviso to that, which we’ll deal with in the next tip. Try and avoid going through the minus gates at all costs, though, otherwise you’re going to end up in trouble.
Stay narrow
It’s a good idea to focus on picking up the length-extending balls instead of the width-extending ones. The narrower you are, the easier it is to work through the obstacles and the fewer balls you’re going to lose when you come up against the ramps. You might get fewer balls, but you’ll probably have more when it comes to the end of the level.
Hit the edge at the end
On the levels where there’s a flat ending, move to the left hand side of the track before you get there. This way you’re more likely to get your balls into the 100x multiplier hole at the end. Stay in the middle and most of them are going to end up in the smaller holes and you won’t get as many points.
Watch the walls
Sometimes you’ll be confronted by walls that will cut down the number of balls you have. You need to make sure you’re hitting the one that’s going to take away the fewest. The colors here aren’t always consistent, so make sure you look for the actual numbers before choosing which one to aim for.
Grab the gems if you can
There are gems scattered around the levels, and while these should never be your priority, if you can get them without dwindling your stack of balls, it’s well worth doing it. They’ll add to your score at the end of the level, and that can only ever be a good thing, right?
