After quizzing fans about the franchise in 2022, it seems remasters of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and its sequel could actually be happening. Eagle-eyed fans at San Diego Comic-Con have spotted logos for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered leaksAt San Diego Comic-Con, a statue of Legacy of Kain characters Kain and Raziel was on display, along with plaques featuring logos for “Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered.” Dark Horse Comics vice president of product development and sales Randy Lahrman told GameSpot that the statue is due to be released in August. When asked about the remasters, the company would not comment, and the plaques had been removed. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (which is technically the second game in the series, following 1996’s Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain) launched way back in 1999 for PlayStation and PC and instantly became a cult classic. The story follows Raziel, a vampire who is executed and then resurrected to seek revenge on his former master, Kain. Soul Reaver 2 launched in 2001 for PlayStation 2 and PC and serves as a direct sequel to Soul Reaver. Earlier this year, Crystal Dynamics partnered with Aspyr to release the excellent Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if Aspyr was behind Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered. Of course, nothing has been officially announced on these remasters, but hopefully, we’ll hear more about them soon.
