The developer of Gran Turismo 7 has said it’s investigating what it calls “unintended vehicle behavior” caused by the release of a recent update.Patch 1.49, released on July 25 for the PlayStation 4 and 5 simulation racing game, added a number of new features and promised to revamp the physics model, but it perhaps went a little too far — with hilarious consequences.Gran turismo 7’s 1.49 update was meant to introduce a major update for the car physics simulation model. Sony had said it would mainly affect the suspension physics model and tire physical calculation model, “resulting in much more natural weight shifting during cornering.” Tire response was also said to have been improved, along with more realistic tire heating and wear. “Look forward to more dynamic car movement and a further polished driving feel,” Ken Chan, senior product manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said in a PlayStation Blog post.But following the update’s release, player discovered that cars had a tendency to bounce their way down the track, or even fly off as Gran Turismo 7’s new physics model broke down.
