Unlocking spells takes a bit of effort, so knowing which you should get first saves you tons of time. With our Derelict Spells Tier List, you can determine which spells may work best for you, and how they compare.

Weave your spells in Derelict as you go up against a multitude of enemies. If you like using spells, you’ll need a staff. See which staff I prefer the most in our Derelict Weapon Tier List!

Derelict Spells Tier List

Which spells do I reckon all mages should use? Well, taking a quick look at my rankings below is a good place to start!

S Tier

My favourite spells to use in Derelict.

  • Infernal Divider
    • Fire spell
    • Summons a sword made of fire as you slam it down to deal Arcane and Combustion DMG to all enemies in front of you
  • Distilled Waters
    • Water spell
    • Heals Arcane HP for all party members
    • Removes the strongest status effect that party members have been inflicted with
    • HP replenished is doubled if a status effect is removed
  • Angel’s Respite
    • Holy spell
    • Ensures that all party members stay alive upon use for 5 seconds
    • Party members inside the AoE have 30% of their HP replenished
  • Divine March
    • Holy spell
    • Holy Swords attack 3 times to deal Arcane DMG
    • Applies Illumination
    • The range and DMG of the swords increases 100% per wave

A Tier

Having any of these spells in your arsenal gives you the upper hand in battle.

  • Entrapping Vortex
    • Water spell
    • Create a water pillar that deals Arcane DMG every second
    • Traps enemies that are close to the water pillar
  • Barbed Body
    • Earth spell
    • Shield yourself to protect your HP and Arcane HP
    • If the enemy is close by, 20% of the DMG you take reflects on them
  • Earth Spikes
    • Earth spell
    • Deal Arcane DMG by summoning spikes from the ground
    • Pushes all nearby enemies backwards

B Tier

Don’t rely on these spells, but there’s no harm in using them every now and again.

  • Umbral Grasp
    • Dark spell
    • Summon a void hand that deals Arcane DMG and prevents the enemy from moving for 3 seconds
  • Gale Scythe
    • Wind Spell
    • Deals Arcane DMG with a large gust of wind
    • Also applies the Bleed status effect to enemies

C Tier

These spells are… alright, I guess.

  • Slipstream
    • Wind spell
    • Dash to summon a gust of wind that explodes where you previously were
    • Deals Arcane DMG
    • Slows enemies down by 50%

D Tier

The weakest spells to unlock and use, in my opinion.

  • Crashing Embers
    • Fire spell
    • Deals Arcane DMG and Combustion DMG after a short while
