FromSoftware is just coming off what seems to be a very successful DLC launch with Shadow Of The Erdtree, the first and likely only expansion for its 2022 masterpiece Elden Ring. Last year though, while we were waiting for the DLC to arrive, FromSoftware wasn’t just preparing our journey in the Realm of Shadow. It released Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon, a game that is largely agreed to be one of the best action games and best mech games in the history of either genre. And now that Shadow Of The Erdtree is out, a job listing from the studio points to the next thing potentially being more Armored Core, maybe even Armored Core VI DLC. A character modeler listing spotted by tech4gamers and Insider Gaming has “Modeling and texturing characters or robots” listed as the first of four bullet point “Responsibilities” at the very top.Unless this is a job listing for the person who’ll design the first robots in Elden Ring, it seems more likely whoever gets this role will be working with the Armored Core team. Now it’s not a huge surprise that they’re working on more Armored Core, studio head Hidetaka Miyazaki himself said that the series is very important to the studio, and he intends to keep working on it.Not to mention that the series is personally important to Miyazaki because those games were part of his early years as a young director with the studio. That this listing is for DLC is just speculation, based on nothing other than the fact that it would make sense if FromSoftware was keen to build off the success of AC6, but that could also not at all be their plans. Perhaps FromSoftware is taking their time and jumping right into Armored Core VII. Who knows. But there’s no doubt that players would love more Armored Core.Source – [tech4gamers via Insider Gaming]
