Phasmophobia’s console release on PS5 and PS VR2 has been delayed twice since it was announced last year, but it finally looks like we’ll get a solid release date from developer Kinetic Games sometime soon.In a post on the game’s official Steam page, Kinetic Games confirms that console players can look to Phasmophobia arriving “this year,” and more specifically during the game’s Halloween event, so we’re likely looking at an October release date – though no specific release date is given in the post.Even though it’s coming more than a year after players thought it would, that it’ll arrive during the Halloween season is at least some solace.Unfortunately though, one of the game’s key features won’t be available on consoles at launch. Voice recognition, a feature that makes the PC version all the more immersive to play, will not be available on consoles at launch, at least for right now.“At the current stage of development console players will be required to use our Text input for Voice Recognition, we are working on a solution for this. We will announce if this changes,” said Kinetic Games in a short FAQ regarding the console release. What will be live at launch though is cross-play, even if you’re playing on VR. So at least you won’t have to worry about playing whether or not you’ll be able to play with your friends on any platform. It’ll also be getting a price increase for the console release, and will be available at $19.99 USD. Kinetic says “due to the amount of content and playtime added since the start of early access we feel this is a fair increase.”Source – [Kinetic Games]
