Fortnite Reload is our new game mode this season, taking us back to Chapter 1 for a remixed version of Battle Royale. It’s a mode that’s much more focused on the real gunplay that players fell in love with Fortnite for.
It’s got a parred-down Reload loot pool. Although, after launch players quickly discovered that its loot went a bit further than that though. The title is actually swimming with Fortnite Reload Mythics. Far from being the stripped-down competitive experience, you have a chance at grabbing a completely broken gun.
Over the years, Epic has included tons of Mythics in Battle Royale. Some of these have been the best we’ve ever seen in the game’s weapons. Mythics that were completely overpowered in the day, now in a loot pool of relatively balanced guns.
You can get items like the Mythic MK, even the Mythic flopper. It’s not a free win, but in the right hands, it’s the closest thing to one you’re going to find. They’re much stronger than most of the Reload weapons.
How can you get Mythics in Fortnite Reload though? Along with the Mythics there are also the Heisted weapons and excotics kicking around, but they’re not the easiest to find.
How to Get Mythics in Fortnite Reload
Fortnite Reload’s gameplay is relatively close to base Fortnite’s, at least when it comes to loot. You open chests and grab loot off the ground. You get what comes out and hope you can open enough containers to acquire the loot you need.
What about Fortnite Reload Mythics though? In the base game, most of these guns were accessible by taking on boss characters. Take them down, get their Mythic. Or sometimes you just had to stage a heist in a well-defended stronghold. In Reload it’s a bit easier. There aren’t any bosses, or NPCs.
Instead, the method for how to get Mythics in Fortnite Reload is a lot simpler. Players just need to open up loot containers. Chests, Supply Drones, anything. Wave after wave of these! There isn’t a special trick,
Each mythic weapon in Reload has a chance of dropping once you open up a container. A slim chance, but one all the same. Sometimes you can look out and find multiples, other players might have been playing since the Reload release and not found one.
It’s an extra element of RNG. Consider it basically the same as trying to find a Purple or gold weapon through chests. Eventually, it’ll happen, but it isn’t really something you can bank on.
The method for how to get Mythics in Fortnite Reload is the same for Heisted weapons and exotics. It is all pretty much luck-based. It’s not ideal, but that’s how it goes with a Battle Royale.
What Fortnite Reload Mythics Are in the Game?
These are all of the Mythic items you have a small chance of seeing drop out of chests in this game mode:
- Ocean’s Bottomless Chug Jug
- Midas’ Drum Gun
- Skye’s Assault Rifle
- Jules’ Glider Gun
- Gunnar’s Stinger SMG
- Foundation’s MK-Seven AR
- Mythic Goldfish
Those are the ones in the loot pool for now. They all have the same drop rate too. You’re not any more likely to pick up one than the other it seems. Although, the exact drop rate isn’t clear just yet.
The list of Fortnite Reload Mythics could change though. While we haven’t seen any big updates rolled out to Reload yet, it probably won’t stay static. Once Epic’s Summer break is over we might see more added or removed depending on how these perform.
We already have quite a few of the best Fortnite weapons here. What’s notable is these feel like the original versions of the guns too. The last time some of these Mythics were back for the close of chapter 4, they got downtuned quite a bit. These feel like the original versions instead.
Heisted Weapons in Fortnite Reload
In addition to the Mythics, there are also some Heisted weapons. These were some of the best Fortnite items in Chapter 4, but haven’t returned this Chapter. These spawn in the same way. These are the Heisteds you can unlock:
- Breacher shotgun
- Accelerant Shotgun
- Explosive AR
- Blink Mag SMG
- Run ‘N’ Gun SMG

That’s how to get Mythics in Fortnite Reload, but which are the best guns? Most long-time Fortnite players likely have their favorites since they’re past weapons. However, there’s a handful that are really good here:
- Mythic MK – This gun is amazing. It completely shreds everything. Getting it in Reload makes you wonder how this was in the main game with tournaments for so long.
- Mythic goldfish – More for memes and fun, but the mythic fish has always held a special interest thanks to its rarity and it’s great to see it out and about here.
- Accelerant Shotgun – The speed-boosting shotgun can turn players into an absolute machine.
- Midas Drum Gun – The original build-annihilating version of the drum is back here. With reboots on and players reckless with their health, this can rack up a crazy elimination count.
If you can stumble on any of these guns, you’re set up for a fantastic round. Fortnite Reload is nearly as good as the best Fortnite XP maps for leveling up quickly if you’re getting plenty of kills. If you can grab one of the top weapons try to keep hold of it!
