Here is our Zenless Zone Zero Ellen Build. We’ll look at the best W-Engines, skills to level, who she synergises with and if she’s worth it.
Ellen was the first agent added as a Banner when the 1.0 version of the game was released. As such, she was very strong on release and continues to be one of the top DPS agents. This, paired with the fact many early fights are weak to Ice or have Ice Shields, makes her a must-pick up.
In this article we’ll take a look at her basic stats, team comps, best W-Engines, Bangboo’s etc. Don’t forget to claim your ZZZ Codes.
Zenless Zone Zero Ellen Build
Basic Stats at level 60
Once you get Ellen to level 60, she’ll have the following base stats.
PEN Ratio -0%
Impact – 93
Anomaly Mastery- 94
Energy Regen – 1.2
Skills
- Basic Attack: Ellen slashes 3 times, dealing heavy Ice damage.
- Special Attack: Tail Sweep that deals Ice damage, with enough energy you can follow up for more damage.
- Chain Attack: Performs an AOE Ice Damage attack
- Ultimate Skill: A huge AOE Ice Damage attack catching multiple enemies
Best W-Engine
Deep Sea Visitor
The best overall for this Ellen Build. Arguably the best period for any Ice Damage agent. Granting 24% Crit, and 25% Ice Damage with an increase of 10% more crit after hitting an enemy with basic attacks for 8 seconds. This is increased by another 10% when hitting with Ice Damage.
The Brimstone
A solid option for standard DPS, this is the best W-Engine for Soldier 11, but can do a good for Ellen. While it lacks the burst damage potential of Deep Sea Visitor, it has a solid overall damage profile.
Starlight Engine
A solid option for free to play, granting a flat 25% increase to damage. It’s not as good as the two above, but is much easier to obtain and level up.
Best Disk Drives Sets
Woodpecker Electro
While obviously the Gold version is the best, any version of Woodpecker Electro should be your go-to. Just focus on this at the music shop and try to get all Gold. It should be fairly easy to get the 4-set bonus, then get the 2-set of either Puffer Electro or Polar Metal.
Best Ellen Team Comps
Comp 1 – All out
This is the best comp you can use. It’s not very free to play friendly, but, if you just want the best comp you can, then this is it.
Ellen and Lucaon go together so well simply because they both have amazing Special Attacks. Lycaon also has 25% Ice Resistance shred, which, as you can imagine makes him amazing with Ellen who is the best Ice Damage dealer.
As for Soukaku, she is just the best support for Ellen. Offering Ellen a number of buffs to her Ice Damage, and then giving her a full 1000 attack bonus via Chain Attack or Quick Assist. She also offers extra Ice Damage, which helps Ellen shatter enemies.

Soukaku – Support
Butler and Sharkboo – Bangboo
Comp 2 – Free to Play
Anby and Koleda are two of the best free to play Stun options, so if you can’t get Lycaon then these are a good backup option.
As for Soukaku, she is just the best support for Ellen. Offering Ellen a number of buffs to her Ice Damage, and then giving her a full 1000 attack bonus via Chain Attack or Quick Assist. She also offers extra Ice Damage, which helps Ellen shatter enemies.

Ellen is an incredible first Banner Agent, and given the easier access to early pulls, everyone should try to get at least two copies of her if they can. It’s very likely her “OP” status will drop off in time, as is often the case with Gacha titles. That said, Ellen is strong now, and likely won’t drop off that much.
