The First Descendant Encrypted Vaults
The first time you hear of the Encrypted Vault is in the ‘Magister’s Hidden Assets’ side quest. These Encrypted Vaults contain Core Materials that are used in research. To complete this part of the quest, you must decrypt a total of 2 Encrypted Vaults, and it doesn’t matter which ones you do! While you need to find 2 for this mission, you can find plenty more outside of this quest, which then rewards you with lots of materials and goodies.
How to Find Encrypted Vaults
It’s not known just yet if these vaults are sprinkled around the map for all players, or if they have a set spawn point. However, we do know that you can find a few in the Sterile Land, specifically around the Classified Area. You can’t find a vault without your scanner device, so make sure you activate it once you load in. If the sound of the scanner changes to a loud bell noise, that means an Encrypted Vault is close by!
Using a Precision Code Analyzer
To open one of these vaults, you must have a ‘Precision Code Analyzer’. Depending on the rarity of the analyzer, some are used for Normal difficulty fields and vice versa. You obtain Precision Code Analyzers by completing various missions. There is then a quick-time event where you must press the correct key/button on your keyboard/controller. If you don’t press it in time, the quick-time event fails, and the vault is blocked. The Precision Code Analyzer is then lost!
