The Realme GT 6 is a really good phone, judging by last week’s poll, but that price might be an issue. A decent chunk of voters are interested, though some are holding off until positive reviews come in. You can check out our review to help you make up your mind (there’s also a video review with Will).
Around a quarter of voters think that the GT 6 is too expensive and point to phones like the Poco F6 Pro and OnePlus 12R as alternatives. It looks like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (despite its age) is the preferred option over the 8s Gen 3. But these two offer a slightly different mix of specs than the Realme – a better chipset but no telephoto cameras.
The Realme GT 6T has split the audience. Half just don’t care about it. The other half are mostly interested, but Realme would do well to keep the price low after the generous early bird offer expires. And some still need convincing (you can have a look at our first impressions of the GT 6T).
That’s the plight of the flagship killers – their audience is very price sensitive as people are looking for the best bang for their buck. They are okay with some sacrifices, e.g. we didn’t hear much complaining about the lack of a metal frame. And you might be surprised by what is considered important, e.g. several people brought up AV1 support.
Realme has a strong pair in its hand with the GT 6 and GT 6T. However, it needs to plan out future discounts and deals for these two as the pre-order rush has come to an end.
