Infogrames has announced that it has acquired the Surgeon Simulator IP from TinyBuild, with plans to expand the brand as part of a long-term plan for the franchise. Speaking during a press release, Geoffroy Chateauvieux, manager of Infogrames, commented:More than 10 years after the release of the original, Surgeon Simulator remains a popular and unique franchise. This was a rare opportunity to acquire a game with a timeless appeal, and we are excited to have Surgeon Simulator within the Infogrames portfolio.Related Content — Upcoming PS5 Games 2024: The Best PS5 Games Coming Soon Surgeon Simulator was originally released for the PC and Mac in 2013, and later found its way to the PS4 the following year and also came to PSVR in the form of Surgeon Simulator VR: Meet the Medic in 2016. The sequel, Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas, launched in 2020 for PC and hit Xbox in 2021. At the time of writing there’s no confirmation of a new Surgeon Simulator game in the works, but things could very well change soon now that Infogrames is in charge of the IP. The legendary 90s company was only recently resurrected by Atari after being inactive for more than two decades.
