EA Sports has announced that San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey will grace the cover of Madden NFL 25, which has a release date set for August 16 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.As you can see in the images below, McCaffrey is featured on both the Standard and Deluxe Edition covers for Madden NFL 25. McCaffrey is the sixth running back to serve as the cover athlete, following Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders, Peyton Hillis, Marshall Faulk, and Eddie George. Madden NFL 25 Cover Reveal”To be on the cover of Madden NFL is a career achievement and an honor I share with all of my teammates, coaches and 49er Faithful who have helped make it possible,” McCaffrey commented. “I’m pumped to get back on the field this year to give Madden players more reasons to keep scoring touchdowns with me in Madden NFL 25.”McCaffrey is one of the most recognizable stars in the NFL and one of the best running backs in the league right now. Last season, McCaffrey not only led the league in rushing with 2,023 scrimmage yards, but had the most touches with a total of 339 and the most combined rushing and receiving touchdowns with 21 for the year. In addition, McCaffrey tied a league record of scoring a touchdown in 17 straight games.Due to his performance last season, McCaffrey won Offensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for the NFL MVP. In previous years, EA Sports used the cover athlete to represent the new features or changes made to Madden’s gameplay. Unfortunately, EA did not reveal the new features and how McCaffrey’s inclusion ties into them. This is the first proper reveal EA has done for Madden NFL 25 after reliable video game leaker and data miner Billbil-kun published a report about when this year’s game would release. The report also alleged several updated features to various game modes, including Career and Franchise.Madden NFL 25 is now available for pre-order. Those who buy the $100 Deluxe Edition get access to Madden NFL 25 three days early. Those planning to buy Madden NFL 25 and College Football 25 this year could also buy the MVP Bundle, which retails for $150 and includes the Deluxe Editions for both games.
