UK-based esports and gaming merchandise company Gamers Apparel will shut down soon, according to a post on the company’s social media channels.

Although Gamers Apparel did not share any details regarding its closure, however, the statement does note challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the business never managing to fully recover from them.

ESI London 2024

Founded in 2013, Gamers Apparel was an esports and gaming merchandise provider to a large number of esports teams in the UK and worldwide. The company produced clothes, such as T-shirts, hoodies and caps, as well as mousepads.

Gamers Apparel was perhaps most known for its B2B segment, where it produced merchandise for streamers and esports organisations. The company has partnered with dozens of smaller organisations in the past and gave teams the ability to sell merchandise without establishing dedicated merchandise operations. In addition to these organisations, Gamers Apparel previously sold merchandise alongside well-known organisations such as BIG, NAVI and SK Gaming.

The company shared the following via social media: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Gamers Apparel LTD is currently in the process of closing down. Despite our best efforts to overcome challenges since the arrival of COVID, we have come to the difficult decision that this is the best course of action.

“We want to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for your support and loyalty since we started back in 2013. Your support has meant the world to us, and we have cherished every moment of serving you on this crazy journey.”

The announcement of Gamers Apparel’s closure was met with sympathetic responses on social media, with multiple esports stakeholders highlighting positive experiences when working with the brand.
