Square Enix’s as-yet unannounced Final Fantasy IX remake is reportedly ‘very far along’ in development, according to reliable leaker Midori on X. The tipster revealed that Final Fantasy IX remake was not among the cancelled titles at Square Enix as a result of its restructuring plans. Furthermore, Midori claims that the game was originally outsourced to another developer before shifting once again after Square Enix wasn’t satisfied with the results. Development of this title is now very far along. But I do not have any firm information on the scope of this title or a firm release period right now.
