Baldur’s Gate III developer Larian Studios has announced that PC mod support for the game is dropping in September, and that support for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is being lined up ‘shortly after.’ An exact date for console mod tools has yet to be announced.The developer posted a detailed FAQ on Steam, and we’ve included the most pertinent info below in regards to console support.Related Content – Upcoming PS5 Games 2024: The Best PS5 Games Coming SoonReleasing first on PC, we expect to roll out the support to the wider community and various platforms shortly after – including for Mac players, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles.Limitations in place on some platforms mean that while you will be able to browse, install, and use player-created mods, the official modding tools themselves will not be available to those playing on console.PC players will have access to the Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit to create their own mods, and an internal curation process will determine which of these mods become available for those on console.Baldur’s Gate III was released for the PC in August 2023 and arrived on PS5 in September, with Xbox Series X/S following short after. While the game was a huge success, Larian isn’t going to be following it up with an expansion or full sequel; instead, it’s working on a brand new IP, and recently opened a new studio based in Warsaw.
