Players working through the Cyberpunk 2077 achievements can expect no more updates for one of the best Xbox open-world games, as all development at CDPR has turned to other projects, such as Cyberpunk 2 and new Witcher games. CD Projekt plans to ramp up its release schedule for future games.CD Projekt reveals plans to increase its release scheduleAs revealed during CD Projekt’s quarterly earnings call this week, the company said it plans to release its games more frequently going forward. Right now, the company has no developers working on Cyberpunk 2077, which made up the bulk of CD Projekts profits last year with its Phantom Liberty expansion. CD Projekt says its net profits for Q1 reached 100PLN (around $25.5 million), leading to a 44% year-on-year increase. The majority of its developers (407) are working on the next Witcher game, codenamed Polaris, which will be the first game in a new Witcher trilogy. As for its other projects, 56 developers are currently working on the next Cyberpunk game (Orion), 39 are developing Sirius, a Witcher spin-off said to have multiplayer elements, 13 developers are working on “other projects,” and finally, 20 are working on a whole new IP codenamed Hadar. “We already worked on two projects at the same time when we were working on Phantom Liberty because that was a game-sized project with almost 300 people working on it, and at the same time we have already been working on Polaris, so we’ve had an experience of working on more than one project,” joint CEO Michał Nowakowski said during the earnings call.“And we are working on more than one project at this time as well. There is Cyberpunk 2 being developed in Boston, there is Polaris being developed predominantly here in Europe, and obviously, we have other projects, with other teams like Project Sirius, also in Boston with The Molasses Flood. And there is The Witcher 1 remake done in cooperation with Canis Majoris, so you can definitely expect us to release more titles and the cadence of launches is something we definitely plan to increase, although I will obviously not comment on what is the space between the projects time-wise.”If you fancy diving into the world of The Witcher ahead of the new games, we think The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best Xbox RPGs.
