Capcom reportedly working on Resident Evil 0 and Code: Veronica remakesThe news comes from insider Dusk Golem, who claims that remakes of Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica are “in development right now.” IGN has corroborated Dusk Golem’s claims, saying that Zero and Code: Veronica “are the next two Resident Evil remakes scheduled to release.”Resident Evil Code: Veronica, the fourth major installment in the Resi series, was originally released on the Dreamcast back in 2000. It sees Claire Redfield and her brother, Chris Redfield, battling to survive a viral outbreak at a prison on a remote island. A HD remaster of Code: Veronica was released for Xbox 360 and is still playable today on modern Xbox consoles thanks to backwards compatibility. Resident Evil 0 is a prequel to 1996’s Resident Evil. Originally released on the GameCube in 2002, Zero follows the story of police officer Rebecca Chambers and convict Billy Coen, who end up exploring an abandoned Umbrella training facility. A HD remaster of Resident Evil 0 was released for Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2016. As it stands, Capcom hasn’t said anything about either of these two rumored remakes, so it’s worth taking this news with a pinch of salt until official confirmation comes through.
