The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Yankees in extra innings to secure their third straight win, all of which came on a walk-off.

On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves 2-1 on a walk-off home run by Luke Williams in the ninth inning. They defeated the Braves 4-3  in the 10th on a two-run single by Jean Segura on Thursday. On Saturday, they won on a walk-off yet again.

The Phillies defeated the visiting New York Yankees 8-7 in the bottom of the 10th inning after Segura hit a single to a diving third baseman Gio Urshela, who failed to throw Ronald Torreyes out at home plate in time.

Phillies secure third win via walk-off with victory over Yankees on Saturday

The Phillies managed to win their third straight game via walk-off despite the fact that they blew a huge lead.

Philadelphia led New York by the score of 7-2 at the end of the fifth inning but watched as it crumbled following a solo home run by Rougned Odor in the sixth, an RBI single by Gary Sanchez in the eighth and a game-tying, three-run home run by D.J. LeMahieu in the ninth to send it to extra innings. It was not the greatest day by the Phillies bullpen, but they were saved by the Yankees failing to knock in Gleyber Torres in the top of the 10th and with Segura’s game-winning single.

The two-game set concludes on Sunday afternoon, where Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola faces off on the mound against New York’s Domingo German. Will the Phillies make it four games in a row with a walk-off win? We’ll have to wait and see.
