Many of you don’t know what to expect from the World Esports Championship 2024, so here’s what we know about the CS2 prize pool.

Saudi Arabia is slowly becoming the leader in eSports because the country is home to tons of world-class eSports events. One of them is the World Esports Championship 2024, which will be among the biggest CS2 tournaments.

Although it may not be as prestigious as the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, it will be memorable. Organized by the International Esports Federation, this event will feature two CS2 tournaments where the total prize pool will be $400,000.

World Esports Championship 2024 Overview

As mentioned, this event will have two separate CS2 competitions. The first one is an open competition, which will have 24 teams. The latter will compete for a $240K reward. Interestingly, there are also women’s tournaments, where there will be 16 teams fighting for a $160,000 reward.

Considering the prizes, it’s no surprise that this will be one of the hottest CS2 events to keep an eye on. The IESF World Esports Championship 2024 will begin on 11 November, which means that we have 8 months until it starts.

The teams that want to take part in the competition will have to earn their sport by competing in qualifiers. According to the information we know, here’s how it will work:

  • Europe – 12 slots for the Open Competition and 7 for the Women Tournament
  • Americas – 4 slots for the Open Competition and 3 for the Women’s Tournament
  • Asia – 6 slots for the Open Competition and 4 for the Women’s Tournament
  • Africa – 2 slots for the Open Competition and 2 for the Women’s Tournament

Once the qualifiers are over, we will see some of the best CS2 teams go to Riyadh to take part in the event. From what we know, we will have a round-robin group stage with a single-elimination playoff bracket. The best teams in the tournament win a solid amount of money, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

An important thing to remember is that Counter-Strike 2 is just one of the five games that we will see during the IESF World Esports Championships 2024.
