GungHo Online Entertainment has announced that another contender for our list of the best RPGs on Xbox will arrive on March 26, when the Grandia HD Collection releases on Xbox. Both Grandia and Grandia 2 are bundled into the collection, remastered for modern consoles, so you can relive the adventures of Justin and Ryudo on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. We don’t have the Grandia HD Collection achievements yet, but we’ll let you know when they arrive.Alongside the digital release, physical collectors will be able to preorder the Grandia HD Collection from Limited Run Games as of March 15.Grandia HD Collection will soon release on XboxThe original Grandia released on the Sega Saturn in 1997, followed by PS1 a couple of years later. It sees you playing as Justin, a young hero on a mission to lead his forces against the evil Garlyle Forces while attempting to uncover secrets from an ancient civilization. As for Grandia 2, it originally launched on the Dreamcast in 2000 before making its way to PS2 in 2002 and built on its predecessor by including enhanced 3D visuals and a fresh battle system. Instead of Justin, the protagonist in this sequel is Ryudo, a mercenary tasked with protecting an acolyte, Elena, as they embark on a mysterious adventure. While it’s been a very long time since I played it, Grandia was an excellent RPG on the PS1, so seeing it return remastered on Xbox is fantastic. The Grandia HD Collection builds on the originals by offering enhanced textures, widescreen support, updated cinematics, and a fresh UI. Grandia 2 also has a Hard Mode included for those of you who enjoy a good challenge. If you’re looking for a retro experience on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, it could be worth checking out this collection when it arrives later this month. If you’re looking for other classic experiences, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection launches on Xbox this week.
