Outright Games, the publisher of the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, has shared some images of the upcoming game set in the same world as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem film.
As you’d expect, players will have the option to play as one of the four turtles as they explore the streets (and sewers) of New York City. According to a press release, the game will be a “story-driven 3D Brawler/Platformer.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed picks up where the movie ended. Unfortunately, their victory in saving the city and being accepted is short-lived because of “a new wave of mutants” that are disturbing the current status quo. Players will run into characters from the film throughout the game. In addition, players will also have the option to play solo or with a buddy via couch co-op, which is expected to drop post-launch.
It’s also worth mentioning that this isn’t the only Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem tie-in set to come out this year. A show set in the same universe as the films is expected to release this summer on Paramount+. The upcoming show will “bridge” the two films and span two seasons.
Currently, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed doesn’t have a release date, but it’s expected to drop sometime in Q4 of this year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Those who purchase the Walmart edition of the game for $39.99 will receive an early access code to an in-game outfit.
