In FF7 Rebirth, like in many other JRPGs, there are lots of weapons for you to find and use as you go through the game. These weapons are grouped into categories and can only be used by specific characters. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find these FF7 Rebirth weapon locations. This will help you pick the ones that fit your playstyle and help you tackle tougher enemies as you progress.

FF7 Rebirth Barret Weapons

First, it’s important to note that you’ll start the game with some weapons already in your inventory. These are part of your basic set of weapons. However, most weapons need to be found by completing different tasks. Also, remember that each character can only use their own set of weapons. For instance, Barret can’t use Cloud’s weapons, and vice versa. In this guide, we’ll focus on Barret’s weapons.

Gatling Gun

How to get it: At the beginning of Chapter 2, Barret will automatically have the Gatling Gun in his inventory and be using it.

Hi-Caliber Rifle

How to get it: To get the Hi-Caliber Rifle, open a chest with purple lights on the northeast shoreline of a big island in the Grasslands swamp. You can find it after finishing Chapter 2, Break the Saddle. Just go south from the Abandoned Dock to reach it.

Barrage Blaster

How to get it: To find the Barrage Blaster, open a wooden chest with purple lights near the cliff’s edge in the Railway Control Tower – 1F room on the Ground Level of the Coal Mines. You can get there during Chapter 7, Leaving the Reactor Behind, while following the Continue Your Search step.

Vulcan Cannon

How to get it: To find the Vulcan Cannon, open a wooden chest with purple lights near a wrecked vehicle and two Sandhog enemies at the northeast end of the Scrapyard Prison Cell in the Corel Desert. You can get there once you start Chapter 8, called Prisoner, which takes you straight to the Scrapyard Prison Cell.

Fafnir Rifle

How to get it: To get the Fafnir Rifle, finish the Odd Job called The Pursuit of Perfection in Gongaga. You can start this task by checking the Community Noticeboard in Gongaga Village after you reach Chapter 9 of the main story, The Village of Gongaga.

Calamitous Bazooka

How to get it: To find the Calamitous Bazooka, open a chest with purple lights in the southwest corner of the Gate of Anger room on the Chamber of Sacrifice level in the Cave of the Gi. You can get there once you start Chapter 10 of the main story, called To Thine Own Self Be True, which takes you to the Gate of Anger.

Battle Cry

How to get it: You can find Barret’s Battle Cry by opening a stone chest with purple lights inside the northern stone tower in the Corridor of Catastrophe on the Hall of Life – First Tier level of the Temple of the Ancients. To get there, finish the A Way Across step in Chapter 13 of the main story, Forging Ahead. After crossing the gap, go up the stairs nearby and enter the tall stone tower just a few steps north of the stairs. You’ll find the Battle Cry chest in the corner next to some rubble.
