Final Fantasy Composer Nobuo Uematsu Doesn’t Think He’ll Score An Entire Game Soundtrack Again

Nobuo Uematsu, the legendary composer behind nine Final Fantasy games, has admitted that he doesn’t see himself scoring an entire game’s soundtrack again in the future.Speaking during an interview with Zeit Online ahead of a performance of Merregnon: Heart of Ice, which is a new orchestral show he’s currently touring, the Final Fantasy composer feels that he’s put his days of composing full game soundtracks behind him. As far as Final Fantasy is concerned, I’m still involved by writing the main themes for the games. But I don’t think I’ll compose music for a whole game again. You would have to give it full throttle for two or three years. And I don’t think I have the physical and mental strength to do it anymore.I think I’d rather use the time I have left to work on other projects that I love.
