EA Sports FC 24 has seen an issue addressed by its developer that saw the Team of the Year Lionel Messi item acquired by thousands of players due to an in-game challenge bug. The item has a real world value of over £700 and was available earlier this week as part of a challenge, and for just over 20 minutes it was possible to get a high probability of obtaining the cards despite it usually being extremely rare. The news of this quickly spread on social media, resulting in EA taking the challenge offline. However, players responded angrily, suggesting that the publisher compensate all those with the item, since failing to do so would mean that those who logged into the game during the bug would have had a big advantage.
