Created in a week(ish) by the Celeste team to celebrate the game’s sixth anniversary.”IGN has reached out to Maddy Makes Games for more background on the development of Celeste 64. That said, this isn’t the first time that Celeste has been reimagined by its original developers. It also includes dialogue that takes place after the original game, marking it as a little bit of a sequel. The original Celeste was released in 2018, earning praise for its sharp controls and memorable music. In a retrospective published last year, we called it one “one of the most important trans games ever.”Celeste 64 can be downloaded now on to Windows PC, with a macOS version coming “soon.” The game’s team are currently addressing bugs and crashes.
