Bugsnax is getting a free update in early 2022, adding an entirely new biome filled with jumbo-sized Bugsnax. The “Isle of BIGsnax” update will also come with your very own customizable hut in Snaxburg, as well as furniture and accessories to make it feel nice and homely. Furthermore, the update will add new voiced dialogue and plenty of challenges and quests to complete.Revealed at the recent State of Play, the “Isle of BIGsnax” update is, well, big. The aforementioned new biome is a whole new island that was previously underwater, now emerged and host to a large swath of prehistoric Bugsnax that are several times larger than normal. These Bugsnax will be more difficult to capture than their regular counterparts. Some notable examples include a Bugsnak made of celery, a massive burger Bugsnak, and a flying insect Bugsnak with wings made of naan. Players will have access to Shrink Spice; a new ingredient that will shrink the giant bugsnax down to a catchable size. If you’re lucky, you’ll even find some new rare hats that you can use to dress up your Bugsnax pets.The new customizable hut will be available at Snaxburg. Players can earn furniture by completing quests and challenges right from their mailbox. The developers at Young Horses say that these challenges will “put a few twists in the gameplay, and shake up how you explore and catch,” though we’re still not quite sure what this entails.
