Steamforged Games is back with another video game-flavoured tabletop offering on Kickstarter, and is once again smashing it — having passed its goal in minutes, the Resident Evil board game is close to $1 million in funding just over 24 hours after the campaign launched.Steamforged has been making quite a name for itself with faithful board game adaptations of video games for some time now, with nine previous crowdfunding campaigns successfully delivering tabletop games based on Dark Souls, Horizon Zero Dawn, Devil May Cry, and other Resi games (as well as a few other projects) before the Monster Hunter: World board game absolutely blew up earlier in the year. Next, the firm is headed back to the Spencer Mansion to deliver us some tabletop survival horror, and the set looks as impressive as ever.Things are a little simpler than the Monster Hunter campaign here, with just two proper tiers: Bravo and Alpha. Bravo tier backing ($99/€85/£72) just gets you the core game and whatever stretch goals are unlocked by all the masters of unlocking who throw their money at this, while Alpha tier ($299/€257/£217) gets you all that, as well as a frankly ludicrous amount of expansions and extra stuff, including the Yawn and Plant 42 miniatures I never knew I needed in my life. The co-op board game (which supports 1-4 players) is designed for campaign play that can apparently take upwards of 25 hours, but you can also just play individual scenarios, which brings session times down to 60-90 minutes a pop. The Kickstarter campaign is up to just over 4,250 backers at the time of writing and still has two weeks to go, ending on Thursday November 11th.
