The first name on the list is a player from South Korea, and his name is Yoo “smurf” Myeong-hwan. According to the data at the time of writing this article, smurf has earned around $355K, which is really impressive. In fact, this makes him first on the list of the highest-earning Overwatch players.

People who’ve been following the professional scene probably remember that smurf became the World Champion two times when he played for San Francisco Shock. With that said, he’s been a part of the Seoul Dynasty, as well as Boston Uprising. 

Smurf is regarded as one of the best Overwatch players of all time and definitely one of the tanks that will go down in history. We hope to see him play in the future, but this will depend a lot on Blizzard’s decisions regarding the Overwatch Esports scene.

Grant “Moth” Espe – $416K

The second name when it comes down to the best Overwatch players in 2023 in terms of prize money goes to Moth. The 27-year-old player from the US is a retired support who has been a part of a lot of different teams. Unfortunately, he is no longer active because he stopped playing in 2021.

What’s interesting about his overall earnings is that some sources claim they are more than $416K, whereas other state they are around $353K. No matter the case, one thing is certain – Moth is an amazing player that deserves more attention.

Over the course of his career, Moth was a part of Toronto  Esports, San Francisco Shock, and even Los Angeles Gladiators. In fact, he retired when he was a part of the latter.

Matthew “super” DeLisi – $423K

The next big name on the list of the highest-earning Overwatch players is super. Despite being just 23 years old, the American superstar is known as one of the world’s best tanks, and for a good reason. In fact, he is one of the players that used to focus on Reinhardt in the Overwatch League.

Despite being one of the best and the fact that he was just 22 years old, the player decided to retire. He said that he has fulfilled a long-term goal of his and that he needs to take some time off. With that said, fans hope to see him back in action in the future because super was one of the best Overwatch players of all time.

In terms of the prize money he won, the sources vary, but most of them reveal it is around $423K. In terms of the teams he was a part of, the player spent the majority of his career with San Francisco Shock (between 2017 and 2018).

Choi “ChoiHyoBin” Hyo Bin – $417K

South Korea has always been to some of the best Overwatch players in the world, so it’s no surprise that Choi “ChoiHyoBin” Hyo Bin is from there. At 26 years of age, the player has accumulated more than $417K so far, which is an impressive amount of money. 

After spending some time with X6-Gaming, Choi “ChoiHyoBin” Hyo Bin joined San Francisco Shock in 2018. He spent 3 years with the club and won a lot of rewards, but he eventually stepped down in 2021 after announcing his retirement. Needless to say, players are eager to see him back in action, but we are yet to see if this will happen.

Park “Viol2t” Min Ki – $620K

The highest earning Overwatch player on the list so far is Park “Viol2t” Min Ki because the player has accumulated more than $620K. What’s also interesting is that he is the first OW star who is still playing because he is a part of the Houston Outlaws. Prior to joining his new team in early 2023, Viol2t played for a round 5 years for the San Francisco Shock. Needless to say, this was when he won the big prize pools.

In terms of the player’s role, Park “Viol2t” Min Ki is a well-known support. He is famous for playing a lot of heroes, such as Baptiste. We expect to keep seeing him in action in the future because many experts think he is among the best Overwatch players of all time.

Lee “Fearless” Eui-Seok – $478K

The last player we want to talk about on this list is also from South Korea, and he is 25 years old. People who’ve been following the Overwatch 2 professional scene know that he was a part of Houston Outlaws until recently, but as of October 2023, he is not playing for any team.

Fearless is a well-known tank player who has earned around $478K so far. He is a popular name domestically as well as internationally, and players know him as one of the best Winston players of all time.
