Infinix is a Hong Kong-based smartphone company that focuses on developing markets like Nigeria, Egypt, and Indonesia. The manufacturer is know for delivering very solid specs for the price rather than groundbreaking industry innovations, but this might change. XDA-Developers shared a photo of an upcoming Infinix-branded 160W fast charger, intended for use in a future mobile phone.

The adapter on the photo sure looks huge, as is to be expected for a brick this powerful. It’s unclear when we’ll see a phone ready to take advantage of it but it can’t be long now.

An alternative explanation might be that it’s not meant for phones at all. Infinix has already started selling laptops with Windows and while those don’t support these rates yet either one with a big graphics cards might be on the way.

Still if it is for a phone as the source claims the 160W fast-charging will top even the 120W and 125W solutions that vivo and Oppo introduced. Not to mention that it will be country miles ahead of the current fastest charging Infinix phones – the Note 10 Pro and the Zero 8 series go up to 33W.
