January will soon bring another round of Xbox server closures for players to wrestle with, and to help you get an idea of what games you may want to prioritize, we’ve rounded up all the confirmed server closures (so far) for next month.Upcoming Xbox server closures in January 2024Now, it should be noted that Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD are single-player games, but as per Ubisoft’s announcement back in October, the publisher is “decommissioning online services” in both games come January 25. We’re not exactly sure what these online services Ubisoft is referring to here, but they could have something to do with Ubisoft Connect rewards (formerly Uplay). Whatever the case may be here, rest easy; you have no achievements to worry about. The first game you do need to worry about if you’re a completionist is WWE 2K22 — servers for both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions will close on January 3. Multiple achievements in both games will be discontinued, so if you are thinking of going for the completion, you’ll want to get cracking as you don’t have long left. However, new players to the game won’t be able to 100% either version as there are already discontinued and partly discontinued/unobtainable achievements. Ubisoft is also closing the servers of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction on January 25. Here, it looks like just one achievement will be discontinued once the server closure hits: Quality Time, which asks you to invite a friend to a co-op story or game mode session. In other server closure news, EA recently announced it is shutting down the servers of seven of its games later this year.
