EA has been on a spree of shutting down servers for some of its older games as of late, and it looks like this trend will continue in 2024. The publisher has now announced it will be closing the servers of seven Xbox games — mainly legacy F1 titles — in March and April next year. According to EA, servers for F1 2011, F1 2012, F1 2013, F1 2014, F1 Race Stars, and Micro Machines World Series will close on March 21, 2024. Madden NFL 20 will lose its online services on April 15, 2024. Sadly, all of these games do feature online-only achievements which will be discontinued once a server closure hits, and they have all been delisted from the Xbox store, though you should still be able to find physical copies. In the case of F1 2011, F1 2012, and Micro Machines World Series, these games already have discontinued and/or partly discontinued/unobtainable achievements, so make sure you take a look at the individual guides of each of these achievements before you go diving in. It also should be noted that F1 2011, F1 2012, F1 2013, and F1 Race Stars are not backwards compatible, which means that if you do need any achievements from these titles, you will need an Xbox 360. Announced earlier this year, EA is also closing the servers of eight more of its games later this week, including Battlefield 1943, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, and Crysis 3.
