Encountering this enemy is certainly not a good thing, as it is very difficult to face and can catch you off guard. In fact, there is no different way to get out of this situation unscathed.

In fact, always maintaining visual contact with the Coil Head and, at the same time, heading towards the exit of the structure you are in is not at all simple.
