Rockstar Released the GTA 6 Trailer — So of Course GTA 7 Was Trending

Following the release of Grand Theft Auto 6’s debut trailer, the remarkable happened: Grand Theft Auto 7 started trending on social media.Given GTA 6 is set for launch in 2025, you’d think that game would be all fans can think about. Early talk on the GTA 7 subreddit, which already has 3,600 members, revolves around predicting in which year Rockstar will release GTA 7. There are plenty of guesses, most of which shoot for some point in the mid 2030s.Let’s remember that GTA 5 came out in 2013, which means if GTA 6 hits its 2025 release window, it’ll have taken 12 years for the sequel to launch. Rockstar and parent company Take-Two will be keen for GTA 6’s GTA Online equivalent to have as long a shelf life and bring in as much money if not more than the phenomenally successful GTA Online, which is still going strong all these years later. Will PlayStation and Xbox still be in the console game? Microsoft is rumoured to be planning its next-generation Xbox for 2028. Will Nintendo be in the mix for Rockstar? GTA 6 is skipping the PC at launch. Will GTA 7 launch on PC? Will Steam still dominate the PC market in the mid to late 2030s? Will Cristiano Ronaldo still be playing football?Who knows? For now, fans will have to make do with the first trailer for GTA 6. Its official unveiling took place last night after the trailer unexpectedly leaked on social media, with Rockstar acknowledging the leak and posting the official version not long after.
