Destiny 2 developer Bungie has removed the game’s new Starter Pack DLC just one day after it launched due to overwhelmingly negative feedback from players regarding its price point. In case you haven’t been keeping up with the shared-world shooter, the Starter Pack retails for $15 and includes three exotic weapons, three cosmetics, and a bundle of materials consisting of 125,000 Glimmer, 50 Enhancement Cores, five Enhancement Prisms, and an Ascendant Shard. However, fans were not impressed, and took to social media to vent their frustrations with the DLC. Besides the price, one of the reasons some weren’t on board is due to the fact it gives newcomers exotic weapons, effectively making it pay-to-win. Other users argued that the weapons weren’t all that powerful and the items included were pretty easy to earn in-game. We’ll start things off with the Starter Pack, which is not something bringing joy. We’ve heard your concerns and agreed that there are other parts of Destiny 2 that new players should want to dive into first before chasing these Exotic weapons, cosmetics, and upgrade materials.Destiny 2 has had a bit of a rough time lately, as the shooter recently hit an all-time low player count and saw the release of its next major expansion, The Final Shape, delayed to June 2024.[Source – Destiny 2 on Twitter]
