Following the recent restructuring of the Xbox leadership team, Turn 10’s corporate vice president of Forza and Fable, Alan Hartman, is now the new head of Xbox Game Studios, while Matt Booty oversees Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and ZeniMax as president of game content and studios.Hartman, who has been with Turn 10 since 2005 as a developer, Forza studio head, and most recently, corporate VP of Forza and Fable, will now lead the 23 teams under the Xbox Game Studios banner, which includes 343 Industries, Turn 10, Playground Games, Ninja Theory, and many more. “Thrilled to be representing such an elite set of game creators in my new role leading Xbox Game Studios,” Hartman announced on LinkedIn.The promotion follows many leadership changes taking place at Xbox recently. As we’ve already mentioned, the previous head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, is now the president of game content and studios, while former corporate VP at Xbox Sarah Bond has been promoted to Xbox president, overseeing the platform’s hardware and software.Last month, Microsoft completed its $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard King, marking the history books as the biggest video game acquisition of all time. The restructuring at Xbox is very likely to be linked to Microsoft welcoming Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment, Beenox, Demonware, Digital Legends, High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, King, Major League Gaming, Radical Entertainment, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Toys for Bob, and Treyarch into the fold.Alongside the announcements, Bethesda SVP Pete Hines revealed that he is departing the company after 24 years of service.
