The CEO of IO Interactive has described its upcoming James Bond game, currently known as Project 007, as the ‘ultimate spycraft fantasy.’Speaking in the latest issue of EDGE magazine, Hakan Abran revealed that the James Bond game is closer to Daniel Craig’s incarnation of the British spy than Roger Moore. Fans will probably recall that Craig was a more gritty interpretation of the character compared to Moore, who injected more humour into the role than other actors. Here’s the excerpt from the magazine: The few other breadcrumbs we’re able to pick up in the office suggest a tone closer to Daniel Craig than Roger Moore, and perhaps a more scripted experience than Hitman’s freeform jaunts. It’s been pitched as ‘the ultimate spycraft fantasy,’ which suggests gadgets – and perhaps a step away from the murderous objectives of Agent 47,” the story continues.Related Content — Sony PS5 Complete Guide — Everything Explained About PlayStation 5 For New Owners In 2023 Project 007 is still in the very early stages of production, but IO Interactive has been quite forthcoming with details. Back in January 2021, the studio said that the game would not feature an existing James Bond (so while the comparison to Craig is there, it won’t actually be Craig’s Bond we’re playing as), while a job listing at the studio mentioned sandbox storytelling and cutting-edge AI framework. IO Interactive originally announced its James Bond title three years ago, at which point it confirmed the game would be powered by the Glacier Engine and is targeting modern platforms.
