After four years with Cloud9, Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen bows out of Cloud9 following a disappointing Worlds 2023 campaign. The self-proclaimed “Support King” will be looking to be called the “ADC King” after announcing via X, formerly Twitter, that he is seeking opportunities in his former role. After four years, four trophies and lots of good times, my time at Cloud9 has come to an end.
I am now a free agent looking for a team for 2024.

Some may have missed this important announcement given it came out during the time most of North America would have been watching their last hope in NRG take on Weibo Gaming in the Worlds 2023 Quater-finals. Although Zven saw unwavering success throughout his time as a Support, Zven always made it clear he wanted to return as an ADC. At the time of writing this article, Zven is still contracted until November 19 according to the GCD (Global Contract Database), this is when fans should expect to hear more news on where Zven could be landing next.
Zven leaves an organization that he claims “took a big risk” when acquiring the at the time TSM ADC. The move saw Zven replace long-time Cloud9 bottom laner Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, a move that at the time did not go down well with the Cloud9 faithful given Zven’s failures on TSM. The risk paid off with the Danish veteran winning four championships, two as an ADC and two as a support after role swapping at the start of the 2022 summer split.

Following the announcement, his former teammates were quick to respond to the news on X. Zven’s bottom laner Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol thanked his partner for everything. “I’ve learned a lot in the past two years, not only in the game It’s been fun to work with you. It will be fun to play against you next year.” said Berserker before saying in Danish “I will cheer you on wherever you go.” Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami later replied with the short and sweet line “Amazing player and teammate”. And finally, Mid laner Jang “EMENES” Min-soo responded with I hope your time with me was a good memory.
